Central Pasco & Gulf Railroad The Central Pasco & Gulf (CP&G) is a 7 1/2" gauge railroad being constructed within Pasco County's Crews Lake Wilderness Park. The park is near Shady Hills in the north central portion of Pasco County Florida. The railroad is based upon the Orange Belt Railway. which ran from Sanford to St. Petersburg through Pasco County. The major towns on the CP&G are named for stops/stations on its route. |

FRANCE: NICE WILL OPEN TRAMWAY LINE 2 in YEAR 2016!
In a surprise move, Nice Mayor Christian Estrosi changed his mind about running Line 2 up the Promenade des Anglais and instead went with a plan that provides an 8.6 kilometer "tram/metro" with 3.6 kilometers below ground. It will cost €'450,000,000 and carry 110,000 - 140,000 daily passengers. It will run between Gare de Riquier and new? Gare Multimodal Saint-Augustin. Boulevard Rene Cassin / Avenue Californie at the Champion/Carrefour food market has a tramway in its future. Fifty-three years after the closure of the Tramway de Nice et du Littoral, the Tramway de Nice began to serve its Northern and Eastern sections. 2007 saw the completion of Line 1 serving the North-South needs of the city. Line 2 now addresses the East-West needs. This WebSite will be updated continuously until completion of Line 2 in Year 2016. |

Over the last 50+ years, railroads have changed a lot. Now they are about to change again.
It is all about a combination of economic factors and climate factors. Since 1950 , railroads have consolidated. Freight moved from a "box car mentality" to a "unit train,mentality". Passenger went from a robust business to a "caretaker" arrangement called AMTRAK. This happened as everybody could drive for free on the Interstate Highway System or fly on an airline system where the government subsidized both airlines and airports. In the meantime, railroad express and railroad post offices went "down the tubes". The old Post Office Department and the Railway Express Agency could not adjust to the new way. UPS and Fex Ex could. |

How many model railroad enthusiasts are there in the United States? In an article in Scientific American (April, 1940), R. T. Griebling estimates that there are 100,000 model railroad hobbyists in the United States. He estimates that these model railroaders collectively own and operate enough trackage to reach from New York to San Antonio, Texas. Their total investment in trains and tracks is around $10,000,000. |

Has a statistical survey of model railroad fans been made? A "census" taken in 1940 by the magazine Model Railroading, covering about 2,000 model railroad hobbyists, disclosed that the average age of the devotees was between 30 and 35 years. Almost 60 per cent of them were between 25 and 40 years of age. Annual income of about 45 per cent of those canvassed was between $1,000 and $3,000; 5 per cent had incomes of less than $1,000; 9 per cent had incomes of more than $5,000. Of the 2,000 hobbyists reporting, 15.5 per cent were semi- professional people; 11.7 per cent were brokers, traders and merchants; 10.6 per cent were students;10.3 per cent belonged to skilled trades; 9.6 per cent were engineers; 9.4 per cent were professional men; 7.6 per cent were executives; 7.2 per cent were office workers; 5.4 per cent were salesmen; 2.8 per cent were teachers and I.I per cent were farmers. |

| Wells Green TMD is a diesel and electric depot set in Crewe, Cheshire, featuring a range of highly detailed 25kV electric locomotives in an authentic grimy, gritty atmosphere. The depot mainly undertakes routine maintenance to electric locomotives, but also contains a diesel fuelling point enabling many different varieties of locomotive to appear. Due to the rapidly changing nature of today's privatised railway, the layout is operated in two different timescales, 2002 - 2004, and 2004 - 2006. |
